It's June 15th and the TJJ team is in Nuremberg Germany to witness first hand, the Soca Warriors take on England. The football powerhouse just narrowly escapes what would have been one of the biggest upsets in World Cup history at the hands of the Soca Warriors. With 10 minutes to go, a corner kick and a fist of hair see England take the lead with a goal that should have been disallowed. But we not here to talk bout dat. :-) Across the street from the Hauptbahnhof (Central Station), which is about a 15 minute tram ride away from the 41,000 seat Franken-Stadion, was lime central in Nuremberg. So it was carnival on the tram all the way and carnival when we reach. One ting we notice is that where ever England fans gathered they was a small army of police watching over them.

After a few beverages it was time to head over to TriniTown's Block Party 2. So the RV crew pull up on some locals to find out how to get to this club. Word was that it was about a 10 minute taxi ride away. So we spot a small maxi to fit the whole crew and even recruited some folks to come along. "A time to make Friends" was the theme of the World Cup and it sure was the reality on the ground as well. "Trinicentricity" was in style in Germany! With new friends in tow, a full maxi and what seemed a tad longer than 10 a minute ride and we was dey.

So we clearly reach the dance early, not a fluff to be seen. Wasn't your regular German club either. For one, it was a Trini party to it wasn't the usual German bouncers waving yuh off from 50 meters away once they realize yuh black. Yeah, its alive and well in Germany. Nuff people reported being turned away from clubs because "they were not accustomed to our faces" as one bouncer so graciously put it. We'll be posting the list of the clubs we know for sure this happened at, along with the city of the club in the hall of shame.

The reception at this club was lil warmer. We could see it was like lime central outside complete with tables and benches. We later learned that on the inside there were really 2 rooms connected by a glass door on the inside but with 2 separate entrances on the outside. After some deliberation and seeing more crew pull up, it was a 20 Euro for those not on the list and in we went.

Two spin inside to check out the scene and get some beverages and the lime was mostly on the outside at first. Yuh ever went tuh church in Tobago or Toco for a 2 o'clock wedding, with the one lil fan spinnin bout 500 feet up on the ceilin? Well it was hot like that in the club! It was a serious Trini reunion outside doh, everybody yuh ain't see in Germany yet show up, lime was real nice.

Tunes was spinnin on the inside and you could still hear the music from outside and juice was flowin. The real surprise is when we limin outside and start to hear Sentinel dub plates playin' well boy.... highlight of the night. In case yuh doh know, Sentinel Sound is a big big sound out of Germany (voted Top 5 International Sound and Best National Sound in Germany, undoubtedly the #1 Reggae Sound in Germany) AND they are the current World Clash Champs! They destroy the dance. Plate after plate after plate. When they was done bruck up that side of the club we went over to the other side where Xcaliber and Jugglers Sound outta Trini were showin a couple struggin German DJ's how to buss a dance.

So we ca explain every big tune and every sweet wine and every time yuh hole yuh belly laughin at some shit talk. But take it from us it was one of the best limes for Germany and we ain't leave there til the sun came up! Dance was nice (look for TJJ TV coverage). Big up to Ms. Triniti and the 1Xtra BBC crew who represented on the night. Special shout outs to all Friends of the Jungle that we caught up with on the night ... it was real, do keep in touch. And of course, Gilly and the entire TriniTown crew, thanks for the luv. See you in Kaiserslautern in a few days. The Party Appraiser from the TJJ crew reporting from Nuremberg Germany.
