Presentation College & Rotary Club of Chaguanas held its 2nd Annual All Inclusive Carnival fete, “Soca Showdown,” which took place on Saturday February 4th at Presentation College Grounds, Chaguanas.

The Trini Jungle Juice team arrived on location at about 7 PM and was well received at the door. From the time we entered, our hands soon became full with the amount of stuff we were being offered. We talking about glow sticks, bandanas, drinks and even multi-vitamins!! Things looking nice already. Continuing further in, we soon entered the main dinning area. A lot of patrons were gathered here during the early hours of the fete. They seemed to be either socializing or dining, or in most cases, they were doing a bit of both. We took this opportunity to have a bite of some of the tasty cuisine being served.

After eating a meal that had us licking our fingers, we washed up and headed to the main stage area. DJ Big Rich entertained the crowd as people were mingling and enjoying a couple of drinks from the premium stocked bars. Destra & Atlantik not too long after came on stage. All attention soon turned stage side as some people were rushing up front in order to get a good spot. Putting on an exciting performance, the crowd seemed to be loving every minute of it ... "Colours Again." Don’t talk about when Destra did one of her later 2k6 releases, big tune “Aur Chale.” This really created an extra hype and stir of energy. Atlantik, carded on the invitation as "North's Finest," definitely represented.

After Atlantik’s performance the crowd took in some of the sweet rhythms from the Tassa and Rhythm Sections. We saw some ladies put down some waist movements here bwoy ... these women had wine-ing skills! Ok folks, focus ... focus, South Central's #1 band, Dil E Nadan, is soon to be on stage. Get a drink and report up front. TJJ staff sometimes has to remember we working!! ;-)

Around 10 PM Dil E Nadan, who seemed to be another crowd favourite, began their performance. The band got a really nice response from the crowd as most folks were now in the partying mood. Hands were waving and people’s faces were lit with smiles of Carnival joy. Everyone was having a good time. TJJ even caught up with Minister Ganga Singh, who also seemed to be enjoying himself.

Presentation College & Rotary Club of Chaguanas surely put on a great event. We weren't in the usual Port Of Spain or Westside venues, but it was definitely an event worth attending!! Well organized and catered for, we see why this event is one of, if not Central's Premier Annual All Inclusive Carnival Fete! Trini Jungle Juice will be looking forward to their 3rd Annual All Inclusive come 2007. We must make special mention to Rotary member S. Maharajh for showing much love and really taking care of us.
