After a quick pit stop in Brooklyn to pick up the "Wacky Scientist" on this cold winter night (thank goodness it ent raining as forecasted), the TJJ entourage was on it's way to the 13th Annual Halloween Costume Ball 2k6. Now it was free admission before midnight with costume, so when we pulled up in front of the Rum Jungle nightclub around 12:30 am , it was ah little surprising to see the line was wrapped around the corner. And we not talking single queue either... no joke. The question was, is everyone still outside trying to get in OR is the club already ram with more people waiting to get in? Once pass the VIP rope, we can tell you that the place was about 90% of it's capacity (and the Rum Jungle ent no small nightclub) as we embraced the welcoming heat on the inside. Yeah man, heat in de place!

Drinks, check! Rum Jungle Dancers looking hot and tantalizing, check! Time to vibes the crowd. It was about a 60/40 split for folks in costume vs non-costume. There were sexy police officers, school girls, pimps, French maids, witches, angels, devils (both sexy and evil), bunnies & kitties, nurses, referees, construction workers, pirates ... characters like Batman, Wonder Woman, Zorro, "Pebbles" from The Flintstones and "Stewie" from Family Guy. Some of the real jokey costumes on the night were the "Wet T-Shirt Winner" with the huge tot-tots and the funny looking "Security Officer", who when asked who he was said, "Rum Jungle Security"!! We must say, it always nicer to see everyone in costume for events like these... it really creates a sweeter atmosphere. So peoples, be sure to get yuh costumes in order early next year!

At about 2:15 am (really 3:15 am since clocks were set back for daylight savings), everyone's attention was drawn stage side... contest time! We assumed it was going to be your regular best costume contest, but nooooooooooo, it was more like the who can entertain the crowd "Dancehall King/Queen" contest. The crowd was the judge, selecting their favorite contestant from about 4 preliminary rounds to all face off to reach the finals. One female police officer, who was eliminated in the 1st round, snuck back up on stage for the 2nd rounds and was again eliminated after given the 2nd chance. Still reluctant to take her consolation prize and leave the stage, the MC had to call for real security to remove her, shouting out "FLAVA FLAVEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" ... man de entire crowd couldn't help but to crack up yes! Okay, we have two words to describe this contest.... "REAL ENTERTAINMENT!!" To summarize, it came down to "Batman" and "The Hulk" (we think that was what he was going for) for the men and "The Pretty Sailor" and "Tinkerbell" for the girls. Although "Batman" costume was de serious business, and "The Pretty Sailor" had some wicked waistline movements, it was "The Hulk" to face off against "Tinkerbell" in the finals. WOW WOW WOW........ they both pulled out all the stops in trying to win the crowd over, and after it was all said and done, "Tinkerbell" was the winner! You gotta check the photos for the action. Better yet, TJJ TV did manage to catch ah piece of de action (click here to watch video). This one is rated "E" for Entertaining!

With an extra hour to party, it was back to regular clubbing after the contest ended. Drinks were flowing and folks were having ah time as the DJs mixed down different selections of soca, dancehall, hip-hop, RnB and reggaeton. Before we sign out, we must mention TJJ's selection for best costume of the night, the "Kissing Booth... Kisses Only 25 cents". The man is ah genius, racking up nuff love from the ladies. Big up to the entire Rum Jungle family for the usual hospitality and luv. TJJ signing out for Halloween 2k6 in New York.
