As sure as it will rain every afternoon during rainy season, you are just a sure that a few months before Carnival here in South Florida you will start hearing the word Band Launching, and first out the gate was Mascots International with this year's offering of "Rakassa" for Broward Carnival 2006.

Now bear in mind that if you looking for something to do every 3rd Saturday of the month, then Mascots Intl have just the thing for you at Lemon Garden in the Sunrise Town Center on the corner of Oakland Park Blvd and University Dr. It may not be on the scale of some of the large fetes on other weekends, but its still a nice time. Move the tables and chairs, setup the DJ in the corner, turn off the lights and next thing you smack dab in the middle of an old school session. Rent a tile, yuh smallie backing yuh up on the wall just bubbeling all night to music provided by Super Jigga TC from TriniBashment 91.9FM and DJ Delite Majesty Sound. It don't hurt that the drinks are cheap and there's food on sale too... to help control the drunk yuh know.

Now we did mention that this was a Band Launching, so there had to be a presentation of this year's costumes. Check the pics... yuh will real like yourself in Rakassa this year, so doh stick with the registration.
