The nation of Trinidad & Tobago will celebrate its 44th Anniversary of Independence on the 31st of August 2006. In commemoration of this event, Fireone Fireworks FX hosted a "Larger-Than-Life" national flag at its head office in Macoya Rd, Tunapuna on the 29th August.

The event themed LIVE LARGE began at 7:30 PM with master of ceremonies Wendel Constantine kicking things off. CEO of the company, Andre Abraham as well as Minister of Public Utilities & the Environment, the Honorable Pennelope Beckles both addressed the audience. There was also entertainment by some teens whose repertoire consisted of purely local selections. Hey lets not forget to mention, there was even a moment of silence dedicated to the late President Noor Hasanali. Then Ladies and Gents, it was time for the main attraction of the night... the hoisting of the larger than life flag, which took place at around 8:30 PM.

Once flying at 150 feet in the air, fireworks then decorated the night's sky, sealing the moment. After that there was a little more entertainment and then guests were invited to help themselves to the many delicious and tasty cuisines that were available. There was also a open premium bar serving refreshments while sweet pan played in the background as folks dined and socialized the night away. The evening pretty much wrapped up after that. Great food, plentiful drinks... it was definitely an enjoyable evening for all.

At about 11 PM as we were driving off, we took a moment to glance up at the flag once more. Seeing our national colors Red, White and Black flying high in the night's sky made us proud to be from T&T. Happy 44th Independence Day Trinidad & Tobago!
