From the journals of The TJJ Party Appraiser. Base camp was set up in Northern VA this week. When Friday afternoon reach, it was a quick ride to the nation's capital. DC is definitely one of TJJ's favorite city's to be in on a Friday afternoon in the spring time. Though we were eagerly anticipating the evening's main event hosted by the Klimaxx Entertainment crew, we still had some time to prime up, after all its Cinco de Mayo! Just when you thought Trinis had the lock on limin' we have the pre-lime lime patent on lock too!

11:30 pm, well primed on some Mexican beverages and delicacies, TJJ pulls up to Zanzibar on the water for "Spring Fling." Valet parking in abundance, a quick trip through the VIP line and it's action time. DJ Hazzard had the crowd hooked from early o'clock with an on point early warm session. No hassle parking, easy entrance to the club, big tunes and quick service at the bar. What more could we ask for? As if that wasn't enough, the ratio definitely favored the guys, ah feel that was the final ingredient. Can't forget linking up local TJJ fam that we hadn't seen since TnT carnival. Always nice to catch up with the hard working TJJ photographers, and distract them from the job a little :-)

By the time prime time rolled around Natural Freaks and Back to Basics tore up the dance in true Brooklyn style. Back to Basics put down ah oldies session dey, well boy... they had to drag us out of there when the fete was done. Klimaxx did it again! First Fridays is definitely one of the premiere events in the DC area. We ca wait for the annual DC carnival all inclusive and we hearin' rumors from the Klimaxx camp bout a BIG event which will be a new addition on the DC Carnival fete calendar. Of course, Trini Jungle Juice will have the details for you once it's a done deal. Before we run, we gotta big up the V.I crew ... you all definitely turned da house down.
