Does the response "down in de funnel" mean anything when you ask someone where de lime/party is tonight? Well that phrase is still known to bring about great discomfort. Not really the words but the meaning ... thoughts of immense traffic! For those who don’t know, when going to Chaguaramas, there is only One Way In and One Way Out! The slightest of complications anywhere along the route can lead to major traffic back-ups.
All those folks who attended Extravagance at Caesars Palace : Las Vegas (The Lure) would know exactly what TJJ talking about. So people we already always a bit late but you see when we spend hours more in traffic getting there, is now we nearly miss the entire party. No fret though, half de party was stuck in traffic too, so we really didn't miss anything :-)
After that whole intro, you probably know that things got started pretty late in the night. Fete didn't reach into full swing until like 1:30 in de morn. Now let's put the negatives behind us, we here! It's a drinks inclusive event with Jonnie Walker (Black), Angostura 1919, Absolut & Smirnoff Vodka, Baileys Irish Cream and the likes. Julius Caesar doing it Las Vegas style so there were poker tables with people gambling, live entertainment from the lovely showgirls and even champagne bars. Did anyone pay close attention to one of those showgirls??!! One really didn't have to use much imagination after getting a glimpse of her costume. Alright people clear your minds and doh go looking back through the pics for those of you who missed it. Remember what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!! There were also door prizes where chosen patrons got to try their luck at card games in attempts to win prizes courtesy of a local casino.
Big up to the Detrimental Sound System who came on at a little after 2 am and hyped up the dance. They really kept the crowd swinging. At minutes after 4 am, quite a good number of folks were still present. Maybe the night had now begun for them or that the thought of running into traffic on the way home comforted them into staying a bit longer. Nah we doubt that ... we are sure it was the free drinks and good music that just made the time slip away all so fast. We left shortly after though, and as we drove away, the haunting myth of being down in de funnel began to come to reality once again. Anybody knows where de Blimp is ... TJJ needs a lift!
