When you go ah dance and see full grown women by de dozens in short short skirt, and hard back fellas in school uniform, either its a Halloween party or one other thing! Guesses any one??!! That's right, it's "Children of the 80's & teens of the 90's Bazzar". The annual event dedicated to bringing back de good ole days. The many fond memories, old school/back in times music and also artifacts or items which now seem so antique, but which are all too familiar to those that were born in the 70's, grew up in the 80's and partied in the 90's.

Once again things were held at the National Stadium, and attracted quite a large crowd. Now there were several highlights of the night. The first was a performance by the dance group "Electric Breakers." New to the scene, these guys did a nice little dance rendition that got the applause of the crowd. Then there was the best 80's costume competition. There were lots contenders for this one, but what really hyped the crowd was some of the relics which contestants brought with along with them. Imagine a man pull out a white "Bolt" sneaker!! Promoter and School Principal on the night, Hoppie say, "That is de kinda shoe that use to make man cry when dey mother buy it!" Folks, all yuh remember that??!! What about Bata bullets and bouncers??!!! Hehe.

The 'Revenge of the Nerds' crew looked like they were going to take home the title, until a guy dressed as Superman jump in the competition as ah late entry. What really gave him his props is when de crowd began to shout, "FLY... FLY... FLY!!!" Well, Superman a.k.a Clark Kent really showed folks that he cud defy gravity when he leaped off de stage. Everyone went wild after that. We have to give it to de man... quite ah show!

So you all think that was good? You know they always save the best for last. At about 5:45 AM, Mr. Neil Iwer George stepped on the stage and did exactly what his big 2007 anthem says.... "going around de county mashing up fete... fete after fete, after fete, after fete!!" Iwer enlightened folks, relating to them how for over 25 years now he has been in the Soca business, and that how some patrons weren't even born as yet when he started his career. So when he said he taking it way back, he was talking real years. The crowd definitely could not get enough of his performance. So much so that every time he started to leave, they began begging him to do another song. Hoppie, who was all too indulgent to keep folks happy, kept pulling Iwer back on.

Fireball a.k.a de Fire Juiceman (yes, de man was a Juiceman before winning Synergy Soca Star... and still is) also came on and performed his ever so popular hit "What I Want". Of course, you can find both his tune and music video on TriniJungleJuice.com. After seeing Fireball dismantle the crowd, we took ah quick glance at our watch... 6:09 AM. Ok it's about that time! We followed the trail of people that were also leaving, but on taking a quick glance back, if you see people still partying. Trini love to party yes!! We didn't get into too much details about the various costumes people came out as because we are sure the pictures will tell that story all to well. Do enjoy de coverage gentle peoples! Hoppie, thanks for the usual luv.
