Gentle Peoples, TJJ was at Rumors Events "Veni Lakai" (pronounced ven**eee laa*ki), which means "Come Home" in Trini Patois... very creative name and theme, on Homecoming Saturday in Washington DC.

When we pulled up at Juste Lounge in Bethesda MD, the vibes on the inside was just right as we saw many old friends and met quite a few new ones (customary on homecoming weekend). The eye candy was good as well ummm… ;-) This party had two of the biggest names in the DJ industry, DC's #1 Sprang Intl and direct from Trinidad, Radio Active sound system (also of the new and hot RED 96.7 FM radio station in TnT). Both good Friends of the Jungle as well.

Sprang Intl was playing back in times disco as he prepared us for what was to follow. The music reminded us of all those wicked Trini jams and house parties back in da day... you remember when Chinese Laundry (CL) and Signal To Noise used to be jammin' at "Colours" down on the jetty at Yatch Club??!! Allya remember CL's "Butterfly" and "Red Zone" parties??... what about "Mona Lisa" with Adrian Don Mora, CL and The Professionals??!! The good ole days...

As the hours passed by, the scene heated up with soca and dancehall taking the mind and soul of the crowd to a different height. Sprang Intl seemed to have reinvented himself with some sweet soca mixes and of course the crowd began to sway and take shape. We tell ya, there were a hand full of folks who were not chipping, wining, jumping, sweating or falling down on the dance floor!! There was even a section wining to the ground and getting on real bad (check out de pics).

This crowd was a different one. As always, the usual suspects were there, plus all those that came from outta town along with a mixture of students and new patrons. It was certainly a beautiful milieu of people, maybe Rumors Events can use this as their next theme... **wink wink**

As the night progressed, the people started to come in droves and soon enough there was little room on the dance floor. Talk about tempo my people! Drinks flowing, music pulsating, people dancing, now the party was in full swing.

Next! In comes Radio Active into the latter half of the night. Peeps, they just started to mash up de place. Those lounging at the front began to chip and wine and all kinda thing. At this time in the party sweat started to run down we back on all, yeah you could imagine! Hypa Hoppa & DJ Dane continued to do their thing... next thing, braps... the lights came on and we all wondering what had happened??!!! It was 3:00 AM and the party had to come to an end!!

Well, besides the early finish the party was a good one. The choice of location, DJ's and the vibe made the night a memorable one. Many Friends of the Jungle has since joined the Rumors Events mailing list (info@RumorsEvents.com) for future events, and have also began to spread the RUMOR. Hope you do the same!!
