A
Friday night "lime" in DC... Trini Jungle Juice in dat! Tabaq
Bistro, a relatively new spot with a chic contemporary design located
on the U street corridor just opposite Republic Gardens, was were it all
went down. Now this spot was certainly not able to accommodate the positive
turnout that came to bid Kofi Boxill of Gresham Entertainment farewell.
The
admission was free and the vibe at first was relaxed and enjoyable, with
quite a bit of mingling and greetings as it was intended. You had Sprang
Intl. holding down the music and of course he didn't disappoint. For the
last hour or so the music intensified and the crowd all headed to the
fire hazard rooftop where their true Caribbean spirit came out. We tell
ya, at the end of the night when the patrons were leaving, quite a few
were seen with their shirts wet! An entirely different scenario from the
one at the beginning of the night.
When
the party was over, the crowd remained outside (customary Caribbean behavior
for your money) for about half an hour before a few left for a house party.
Real haunted vibes!!! ;-)
All
in all, this "lime" was a good one. Nuff respect to the gracious
hosts. We looking forward to continuing the weekend feteing at Rumors
tomorrow night. Washington DC... keep on representin'. TJJ signing out
for de night.
