Everyone loves downtown parties, but hates downtown parking! So you know when TJJ roll up to Tantric Martini Lounge about 12:30am and get a parking spot right in front of the club, we had huge smiles on our faces. Parking - check! Getting on the inside - next up. As expected for any XCLuSV events, we had to deal with a line up... and as you know, winter brings a whole different meaning to lining up. It was time to buss out the ole smile and skip the red rope trick! Get on the inside - check! Heh, we not new to this. ;-)

Tonight, Trini Jungle Juice was cordially invited to join Mesfun Haile (XCLuSV) for the 3rd Annual Sagittarius Soiree at this upscale martini lounge. It was a birthday celebration for Mesfun and some of his Sagi friends. Being the 3rd year for this special event, we figured some history lessons might be in order, so we got the low down from Mesfun himself.

He said, "Ever since we were bambinos, mom had the '2 for one' birthdays complete with the matching outfits, and a date picked between my November Birthday and Aron's December Birthday. On Saturday November 29th 2003, Aron Haile (Aroni) and I (Mesfun Haile) were blessed to have many of our friends and family join us at our Birthday celebration... the first SWEET SOIREE. Having produced so many events under his KoolFusion (Private Schools) events, this would be his first Aroni was so happy and excited by this "SWEET SOIREE" event. The concept was simple... sweet people coming together at a social event and connecting/meeting via his SWEET eXchange. No pretenses, no attitudes, just people meeting people in an upscale setting with great music. The Sweet Soiree was to be the first in his involvement with XCLUSV and its future events."

What made the Sagittarius Soiree even more special this year, was that all proceeds courtesy of XCLuSV, the co-hosts, the venue and sponsors, will go to towards the inauguration of The ARONI Awards. The ARONI Awards to be launched officially in 2006, will be a marquee event in late Aron Y. Haile's name. Mesfun further explained, "The focus of the event and the organization behind it will be to present Awards to positive role models and unsung heroes of our community. We hope with your support the ARONI Awards can become part of Aron's strong legacy in the community."

With that said, Mikey Mal (XCLUSV), the gentlemen of TANTRIC Saturdays and some of Toronto's premier DJs delivered nothing less than expected... sweet music and a great vibe! As in past SWEET SOIREEs, it was all about the infamous SWEET EXCHANGE!! Folks really left the shy/un-approachable look at the door and brought nothing but smiles!! We are sure Aron had a smile on his face too, especially since his concept of Sweet people needing to meet other Sweet people was truly talking place on this special night. Happy Birthday guys!
