"Rumors dem spreading..." yes sir, Trini Jungle Juice was in the nation's capital for RUMORS. Despite the rainy weather and slow start seeing that most partygoers started coming in around midnight, the turnout was a good one. The crowd against the backdrop of the Mirrors restaurant and lounge showed the young professionals of the DC metropolitan area with their mixed drinks and champagne swaying to the pulsating beats of soca and reggae provided by DJs Sprang Intl and DJ Hazzard… everyone was just 'vibez-ing out' and enjoying themselves.

We must say that the make up of the party was well planned out and executed. There were entry prizes and a complimentary buffet by none other than DC's #1 caterer 2 Island Bwoyz, whose tasty servings were said to be done within forty five minutes.

In attendance was Kofi Boxill (partly his farewell party) and DC's promoter clan that came out to show their support including Rascalz, Klimaxx Entertainment, Gresham Entertainment, Knockboyz, Wynah Crew and HUCSA President Adele Rose. Yo, even Malcolm Jamal Warner of the famed "Cosby Show" was in da house!

At around 3:30 am or so the party's attention was alerted for Rachel Pouchet of 4 Real Productions (producers of TRIBE's "Achaean Odyssey 2k5" and "Tale of Benguela 2k6") with her Miami carnival presentation "Bakanal the 7th Sin". Toward the end of the night came the prize giving presentation. This was certainly done differently for a Caribbean party. First there were the RUMORS ambassadors with their bouquet of flowers in hand for the relevant winners. Now we must give nuff props to the RUMORS ambassadors (Gillian, Shanna, Katie, Nadine and Deon), who worked the crowd like none other. They truly had a good time and epitomized what RUMORS EVENTS is truly about! Then there was the sponsor board that added a beautiful touch to the overall presentation. The MC for this presentation was Neil Mattei of WEAA 88.9 FM. A big congrats to the winners:

When asked about the night's presentation, the founder of RUMORS EVENTS Shurland Oliver said that he wanted to use strong Caribbean elements with a twist, while also giving his sponsors maximum exposure. He also took the time to thank the sponsors, University Fete ~ Travelspan Vacations ~ 2 island bwoyz ~ Mirrors Restaurant And Lounge, who helped make the event a successful one. Of course, TJJ wanted to know when is the next RUMORS event??? His reply was, "Not at the moment, but I will be supporting the University Fete for Miami Carnival and other events."

For their first event we must give Shurland, the RUMORS Crew and the corporate sponsors their props for having such a wonderful production.
