The Roc is in the
building! Yes massive and crew, rap superstar, Kanye West, was
most definitely in the house. On Thursday 22nd of December, the Jean Pierre
Complex hosted TSTT's bMOBILE Unbeatable Concert Series Pt 1 "Touch
the Sky Tour." Recently named to Time Magazines list of
the 100 most influential people in the world, and 8 time Grammy nominated
artist, Kanye West was the main attraction.
The concert also showcased
other big local acts such as Shurwayne Winchester, Bunji Garlin
and Machel Montano who got things swinging before the main feature.
People came out by the thousands to be a part of this experience, and
not even the rain that fell after Bunji's performance could deter them
from sticking it through till the end of the night. Anticipations were
truly high to see the man of the moment.
Just a little after
2 AM, the crowd began to chant "Kanye ... Kanye ... Kanye!"
People knew he was up next. When he graced the stage, spotlights were
strategically centered on him. We telling ya, the masses went wild!! Screams
and shouts were heard from all around by both man and women alike. Kayne
began dropping tune after tune from both his 2004 debut album "College
Drop Out" and second solo album "Late Registration" (released
2005).
Funny thing though,
like the audience knew the songs better than Kanye himself, as
they sang song after song along with him. Some of these hits were "Jesus
Walks", "Roses", "All Falls Down", "Gold
Digger", "Heard em Say", "Slow Jams", "Touch
the Sky" and "Overnight Celebrity." Said to be one of many
to come by bMOBILE, the concert was a memorable and enjoyable one. Kanye
West delivered not only a profanity free line up, but also an entertaining
and energetic performance which shows why he is one of the leading people
in the entertainment industry to date. The show was closed off at about
3:15 AM which was at the end of West's performance.
