Saturday is a special day come Miami Carnival... that's because it's when the promoters pull out their big guns and have their wickedest fetes. This year, there were at least 8 offerings to pick from. Angostura All Inclusive University Day Fete is the giant and almost a given - of course TJJ was there, but we were also at Eyes Wide Shut All Inclusive Day Fete. We wrapped up our night at good friends of the Jungle, Generation X's Carnival Cooler Block party.

Another first for TJJ, this event was held at their Mas Camp all the way down in Doral - and we do mean all the way down. We got there just before 1am and there were a few folks in the place. This was to be expected as everyone was on their way from a previous fete. Once we got on the inside, the first thing we noticed was the massive wall of speakers at the back! Gen X done have their truck ready for the road and DJ Lalo, all the way from Trinidad, is pounding out the Soca. Apparently, this caused a bit of a problem with the neighbours as cops tried to end the party way early citing complaints - which was odd as this is not the first event Gen X has done at their Mas Camp this year. Not only that, they were saying that folks had to leave behind any open bottles. Remember this was a Cooler fete, so open bottles was in abundance!! Madness!!

Things were not looking good at all, but we told you before, Gen X does do they thing real professional. As Machel & Dougie Fresh say, "We not giving up!" After a brief word with the officers, they convinced them to allow the fete to continue with the music turned down low, and with Lalo's sound system it was still more than needed for folks to have a good time. Next thing we know the place almost full, and TJJ and all have a cooler! Why not? We is people too!!! ;-) We don't know how Gen X does do it, but it was again another real nice fete! They need to bottle it and sell it!! Hehe. We could not wait to get on the road with them for Miami Carnival and their 2006 Europhia presentation.

Oh yeah, we were planning on taking you guys on the inside of Soca Fest at the Coconut Grove Convention Center but the promoters stick - not our loss! Let we rest up for d'road tomorrow... it's Miami Carnival & Broward Carnival Parades. We working double time! TJJ out.
