We can believe it's
9 years strong that Scruples Annual Block-O has been taking place. This
blocko is considered by many to be one of those 'diamond in the rough'
parties... you know, one of those fetes where everyone has a great time
whether they planned on it or not! It's a must reach event for Trini Jungle
Juice (TJJ) each and every Miami Carnival. A fete with a simple, yet very
effective formula - free drinks, music (djs only) and nice people!!
TJJ crew reached Club
Pure somewhere between 10 and 11pm. The parking lot was already full and
the lines were long as hell. But it was all good, as everyone was liming
in the street like a true blocko fete until they got on the inside, which
was already ram. The venue provided indoor, rooftop & courtyard access
and drinks were flowing in all areas. Now you know once drinks flowing,
that means people having a nice time! Outdoors in the courtyard was a
chill vibe with DJ music (big up High Fidelity & all DJs on
the inside), as well as, Miami's #1 Steelband "New Image Steel
Orchestra" alongside the food where many partygoers were just
chipping to the sounds of steel. "Nice time... we having a nice time..."
Simultaneously a total
club feel was in effect with Soca playing in the club haze. The club was
air-conditioned for those who wanted that indoor feel complete with a
rooftop view of the city of downtown MIA. There were no live performers
- but none were needed. Everyone partied themselves silly, drunk or a
combination of both till 4am and the place took a full hour for the masses
to take their drunk selves home. It was the most attended Block-O fete
to date... and to think about the other huge events taking place on the
same night. Well this actually might be a good thing in keeping this fete
exclusive to the folks who have been attending the blocko from year one
and have grown to love & enjoy this party for what it is. Much love
goes out to Irwin and the entire Scruples Inc. family. See everyone next
year!
