Upon arrival at Big Fish shortly after 1am, we were greeted with a lengthy line of patrons waiting to get in, as is to be expected if arriving after 12:30 for this party... yes Island Elite was celebrating their 1st Anniversary! Though Trini Jungle Juice was afforded special entry (big up to Roger and Troy), we must mention that the line moved pretty swiftly, and a 2nd entrance was opened when the promoters realized that the line had grown quite long, allowing patrons to quickly enter and enjoy the dance.
The covered and uncovered venue right off the water in Downtown Miami, is a great location for a Trini party of this type and the capacity crowd was festive and diverse. DJ Dorenzo and the other DJs kept the crowd moving all night with a good mix of music with something for everybody... but with more than enough Soca to remind folks that they were in a Soca Fete. You add drinks to the mix... and indeed folks fete till ah mornin'.
With a body painting station, a 2x3 foot cake and food on sale on the inside, Island Elite made sure that this anniversary party will be remembered! Hats off to them as they continue to take Caribbean parties to another level.
