Best of Both Worlds (Orlando Carnival Weekend)
Date: Friday 27th May 2005
Venue: Hard Rock Café, Universal Studios. Orlando, FL
Promoters: Mr. CC Productions

This fete was brought to you by Mr. CC Productions and was the official party to kick off the Carnival weekend in Orlando. However, there were several partygoers there that had no clue that a local Carnival was being celebrated that long Memorial Weekend! In fact, there were three cuties that just happened to stumble upon the festivities, who had absolutely no clue that there was an "Orlando Carnival" happening. TJJ got to the venue at approximately 9:30pm. Yes, 9:30pm! Very early, but when in Rome! The venue was an excellent choice, one word... "Grand." Spacious dance floor on the 1st level, theater seating on the 2nd level for the more mature/laid-back concertgoers.

Billed as "Best of Both Worlds," the party lived up to its name. This event brought you the Ambassadors of Calypso and Reggae.... the Honorable David Rudder and the Honorable Beres Hammond, say no more! It doesn't matter how many times you here Rudder's Bahia Girl performed, it's like hearing it for the first time every time. Simply, music to your ears! Although the partygoers had a social vibe, TJJ and friends had a good time as usual. Mr. Beres Hammond represented as always singing all of his big, big tunes. However reggae's original Queen, Marcia Griffith, almost stole the show.

All in all, the party was a good kickoff for the entire weekend of West Indian cultural celebration. The party ended promptly at 2:30am, we doh really like Rome for dat!
