The Largest & Longest Street Parade In Europe Still Continues ...

Every once in a while we need someone to love. Someone to hold and to give a slow or fast wine. That someone could be anyone when you are at the right place and definitely at the right time. Notting Hill Carnival 2010, we could call it the perfect season! Taking place in the streets of London, Notting Hill, obviously! What a Hot and XXX Carnival it was indeed. It was my 1st carnival in London so I saw everything with new, fresh eyes.

Never have I thought there would be so many people who would take part in this festivity. I was overwhelmed when I stepped out from the Tube and nearly couldn't pass because people already had started the party on the the streets drinking beers, singing and eating spicy food. Oh yeah, it has to be said on every corner you can buy Caribbean, Indian, African, Asian food -mm mmm - yummy yummy rub my tummy - whatever the heart desires.... but we revellers can't really worry about food, its all about "where is the truck with drinks though??" Wait!! I think my cup is half empty, let me get another Johnnie and Ginger le ... Excitement!

So here comes the ratings from Miss Stamina (1st timer in Notting Hill):-

DRINKS AND MUSIC - (because that is to me the most important factor!) Easy access to my liquor and DJ's were playing decent and moving tunes, all the way. Really enjoyed that part.

The truck was moving smoothly and DJ's were getting the crowd hype for hours, even after playing "Palance" for the 87th time! I don't know how many times we palanced that day but I think even the Chinese tourists on the side knew all the lyrics (not that they are hard to catch).

VIBES - I got into the groove from when I heard the music and saw all my friends getting on bad even before I even "landed" in the band. I had so much fun with my crew and I could see everybody else felt the same. We wining, jammiiiiin!Top notch!

WOMEN - Beautiful, with or without costumes! They looked stunnin'.I must say to men looking for future 'wifey-sumting-sumting' .... Try this carnival next year!

Disclaimer: TJJ is not a dating site.... I'm just telling people how we get down in London Town! smile

MEN - Yeah, since its my bumcee that has to wine with Mr. Enigma, I will look back every time someone new tries to theif a lil' wine. Most of the guys decent and polite.... some good looking too!! But what happened to security through out the day? They just disappeared and then reallll ghetto men came, claiming I was their wife, girlfriend, outside woman, baby mother and what not! One guy managed to jump on my toe, grab my arm and say "Why u look sour? I wish ur face looked as happy as your backside." Dude!?

It's time for me to get my girls and find my way home. It's getting dark and my body has realised I cheated with Scotch instead of my daily 6 small meals.... I need a kebab! Then just like that, my carnival has come to an end.

Will I be back? Ohhh Yesss!!!! It's definitely a good experience. It's the closest us European Bound get to feel like the home of the Caribbean.

What more can we ask for? Absolutely Nothing!!!!
