This
Soca Award Nominee 2006 is Trinidadian by birth, and holds a Bachelors Degree
in Management and Computer Science and is currently pursuing his Law Degree.
Even
though Sean Alexander has loved the music art form all his life, he began singing
at the age of nineteen (deciding to complete his academic achievements first)
and writing his own music at an early age. To assist in honing his writing abilities,
Sean has procured the musical penmanship of the legendary Barnet "Preacher"
Henry. He has even collaborated with the likes of the 2005 Soca Monarch Queen
Michelle Sylvester and one of the original United Sisters Marvelous Marvah. And
is working on a new release for 2007 with Road March Queen Fayann Lyons.
To
his acclaim, he has written songs that have thrilled audiences and the airwaves
such as "Soca Lover", "Too Hot to Handle", "Bad",
"Let It Burn", "Donkey 2K6", "Maybe Tonight" and
"Bend Yuh Back and Wine". Sean has performed throughout clubs in the
United States as well as in Trinidad. He has also been interviewed by leading
Radio Stations such as Trini Bashment, WACK 90.1 FM, Power 95.5 FM, Pulse 91.5
FM in Trinidad, Canada and the United States.
On
the quieter side of life, this self proclaimed "chic geek" enjoys reading,
writing, fishing, listening to all genres of music and spending time with family
and friends (which all helps to keep him the grounded individual that he is).
So it is easy to see why he is "every man" and was even named Soca Heartthrob
by one of Trinidad's newspaper.
In
his pursuit to take him to the next level in his love/passion for Soca Music,
he has worked with Producers such as Kenny and Kasey Philips (the maestros of
Soca, no pun intended), Franz Rolls and Malcolm Litchcock, Pammy Alexander, Phillip
Gilson to name a few. For the 2006/2007 period, he has enlisted the unmatched
talent of Sean Noel of the Mastamind Production Family and believe me, you won't
be disappointed. Wait and See.
He
has also been approached by 104.7 More FM owned by Robert Amar, and will be touring
Trinidad and Tobago on board the Keskidee Caravan, which kicked off Easter weekend,
so look out for him at a venue near you.
Special
thanks to the management and staff of BWIA for their sponsorship of Sean Alexander,
while attending these events hosted by 104.7.In these times of economic hardship
they have extended their hands to an upcoming artist, which is unprecedented and
reflects their confidence in the quality of music he delivers.
Soca
Artist Sean Alexander has teamed up with the 2006 Soca Monarch Finalist Mr. Chucky,
to release what is in the opinion of many to be the season's hottest contender
for Road March, called "Thunder".
As the name implies "Thunder"
brings to mind a riveting J'Ouvert Morning with inspiring steel bands playing,
the sizzling vibrant masqueraders jumping while the music explodes into engaging
dancing festivities that doesn't allow room for standing and watching on the sidelines.
It calls for much more; it's a sweet mixture of everything lively, which enlightens
the soul and the main ingredient for a carnival to remember!!
