Thursday to Monday is suggest travel dates. BCE takes place in May, on the 1st weekend. The Parade of the Bands, or what they refer to as "Road Fever" takes place on the Saturday in Nassau, New Providence.

Best places to stay

Search for hotels and accommodations in Nassau, New Providence area. I was also advised that Paradise Island, West Bay Street and Cable Beach Strip Arawak Cay Area are also good locations to stay. Breezes Resort All Inclusive was our home for the weekend, which was a stone throw away from Nassau's newest luxury resort, BahaMar. And there's the popular Atlantis. Airbnb is also an option.

Transportation

There are several options to help you get around Nassau & Paradise Island. Rental cars, motor scooters, buses and taxis are the most common means of public transportation. A taxi ride to and from the airport can cost between $20-40 dollars.

Lynden Pindling International Airport, formerly known as Nassau International Airport, is where you're flying in and out of. Airport Code – NAS. Prefer to get there by sea? Local Food

Conch (pronounced "konk") is the national food of The Bahamas and a true Bahamian specialty. The most popular conch dishes are Cracked Conch, Conch Fritters and Conch Salad.
Breakfast - 1) Grits and your choice of steamed tuna, sausage, corned beef, ham. 2) Boil fish and 3) (Hot) Souse - chicken, mutton, sheep tongue.

Local Drinks

Kalik beer, Pink Sands Radler and Sky Juice (coconut water, gin, condensed milk, nutmeg, cinnamon).

Late Night Eats

Most places close at midnight, afterwards your best bet will be Esso "On the Run" gas stations. The places that may be open till midnight will be Bamboo Shack for your fish/chicken/conch snacks, Wendy's, Arawak Cay (Fish Fry commonly called) and Potter's Cay aka Under The Bridge.

McKenzie's at Potter's Cay – This is where I had my very 1st Conch Salad. Two main choices were 1) Scorched Conch - plain and simple raw conch, marinated for a few seconds in sour orange juice with onions and served immediately. And 2) Tropical Conch Salad - This conch dish adds fresh tropical fruits to a classic Bahamian dish. I went with Tropical, look out for my vLog.
Oh Andros at Arawak Cay - Fish Fry - conch fritters, cracked conch, conch salad, fish snack (fish and fries), conch snack (conch and fries)
