Jamaica Carnival - No Longer Under The Radar & Yet Still The BEST VALUE IN THE CARIBBEAN

 

Many carnival goers and fetters worldwide refer to going to Carnival in Jamaica after Trinidad Carnival as "Doing The Double". This second leg of the carnival trip tandem is a favorite of many for several reasons, but here are the 3 main ones:-

 

1. Carnival in Jamaica is a great time and less expensive (hoping it stays this way)
2. The hurdles for entry into mas bands and fetes is a lot less rigorous .... and
3. Jamaica has PERFECTED the all-inclusive experience. Nobody does "all-inclusives" better

 

In last year's review (click here), we spoke about the explosion of party scene. The days of 1 fete per day in the week leading up to carnival and 1-2 fetes per day on the actual carnival weekend are no longer. And our prediction is expect an even more packed fete schedule for Carnival in Jamaica 2018. As a friend pointed out, the carnival landscape in Jamaica is starting to mirror that of Crop Over (Barbados). Carnival Sunday
ROAD MARCH. TJJ was on the road for the 9th year with Bacchanal Jamaica hosting a private section "Black Swan" with Frenchmen. Unlike previous years where it was only two (2) mas bands in Jamaica, Bacchanal Jamaica and Byron Lee's Jamaica Carnival, 2017 saw the introduction of two brand new bands; Xodus Carnival and Xaymaca International.
